Man Robbed in Wal-Mart Parking Lot

A West Columbia shopper reported being robbed by a knife-wielding man Monday morning.
The man told police a man with a "northern accent" approached him around 2 a.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 2401 Augusta Road.
The suspect at first feigned asking for directions, then pulled a knife and demanded money and the victim's cell phone. The suspect then left in a red Subaru or Subaru-like hatchback, driving east on Augusta Road, the West Columbia Police Department said.
The suspect is described as 35 to 40 years old, about 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 190 pounds.
